Cheaper crude oil has pressured sunflower oil prices in Ukraine.

The increased supply of sunflower and the drop in prices of unrefined sunflower oil on international markets led to a decrease in speculative demand for the oilseed crop in Ukraine and a drop in its prices, reported the Ukrainian branch of the French company for the trade and transport of agricultural products GrainTrade. The purchase prices of sunflower seeds dropped by 200-500 hryvnia per ton to 27,400-28,500 hryvnia per ton, or $573-595 per ton excluding VAT for raw material with 50% oil content delivered to the factory. Local experts commented that some processing plants significantly reduced prices after accumulating sufficient stocks, while others continue to maintain them at higher levels.
