The increased supply of sunflower and the drop in prices of unrefined sunflower oil on international markets led to a decrease in speculative demand for the oilseed crop in Ukraine and a drop in its prices, reported the Ukrainian branch of the French company for the trade and transport of agricultural products GrainTrade. The purchase prices of sunflower seeds dropped by 200-500 hryvnia per ton to 27,400-28,500 hryvnia per ton, or $573-595 per ton excluding VAT for raw material with 50% oil content delivered to the factory. Local experts commented that some processing plants significantly reduced prices after accumulating sufficient stocks, while others continue to maintain them at higher levels. Unrefined sunflower oil for export from Ukraine dropped by $10-20 per ton over the week to $1,220-1,230 per ton with delivery to the port in November and December, with the drop over the last 10 days already being about $40-50 per ton under the pressure of palm oil prices, which fell by ...
