The harvest of the 'Ziraat 900 Napoleon' cherry type in Gaziantep, Turkey, has commenced despite a 70% yield decrease from the previous year due to seasonal conditions. The city, which begins its production after peanuts and olives across 10,000 hectares, is now in its cherry season. The Hard Core Fruit Producers Association aims to harvest 250-300 tons this year, a significant drop from the 1,000 tons harvested last year due to wind damage during bloom. These cherries are exported to 40 countries, with 80% of the production being sent abroad, primarily to Germany, Norway, England, France, and China.
