Kazakhstan has experienced a significant increase in poultry meat production, with a 30% rise in frozen meat and a 12% increase in fresh or chilled meat compared to the previous year. The Almaty region was the largest contributor to this production, accounting for 21.7 thousand tons of frozen meat and 11.9 thousand tons of fresh or chilled meat. The country's poultry farms have provided 68.4% of the demand for poultry meat, a rise from 66.6% the previous year. This growth is attributed to the implementation of a program for the development of the poultry industry and expanded government support. However, the cost of chicken and other poultry products has increased, with chicken prices rising by 6.2% per year and ham reaching a high of 967 tenge per kilogram in the capital.
