Chickpea exports from Russia to Turkey may reach $200 million

Russian chickpeas are the cheapest so far. In the future, Russia may increase supplies of chickpeas to Turkey from $46.7 million in 2022 to $200 million, according to a review by the Agroexport federal center of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. “The estimated potential for chickpea supplies from Russia to Turkey is estimated at $200 million. The main competitors of Russian products in the Turkish market are Mexico, Canada, Kazakhstan, Australia and other countries,” the review notes. According to Agroexport, in 2022 Russia took first place among exporters of chickpeas to Turkey, supplying this country with 64.7 thousand tons worth $46.7 million.
