The fifth Committee on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS) between Chile and Vietnam was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, with the aim of strengthening the commercial relationship between the two countries. The Chilean delegation raised issues such as health access for meat and by-products of various animals, phytosanitary access for fresh kiwi fruit, and the facilitation of authorization procedures for fishing and aquaculture establishments. Vietnam focused on understanding the requirements and control systems for imports of food and agricultural products. The agreements reached include Vietnam committing to carrying out an audit visit to allow the entry process of Chilean meat this year and progress in the kiwi authorization process.
