Chile: Beef production from cattle increased by 12.4%

In October 2024, total beef production was 6,882.8 tons (t) in the Los Ríos and Los Lagos Regional Grouping, registering an increase of 13.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). At the national level, beef production from cattle was 16,384.0 t, showing an interannual increase of 8.4%, with the Los Ríos and Los Lagos Regional Grouping accounting for 40.7% of production, followed by the Araucanía Region, which contributed 18.1%. The entry into the slaughter process of cattle for human consumption (known as benefit) was 27,983 total heads, at the Regional Grouping level, which represents an interannual increase of 12.2%. The benefit of bovine cattle at the national level was 62,189 heads, showing a growth of 7.5%, compared to the same period of the previous year, with the Los Ríos and Los Lagos Regional Group accounting for 40.9% of the national benefit, followed by the Araucanía Region, which contributed 18.2%. ...
