Chile: Bovine meat production decreased 5.8% annually in the July-September quarter

In the third quarter of 2023, bovine meat production decreased 5.8% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, registering 46,608 tons (t). In turn, the entry into the slaughter and slaughter process for human consumption (known as processing) of cattle nationwide was 179,759 heads, with a year-on-year decrease of 6.2%, according to information provided by the bulletin Fairs and Slaughterhouses published this morning by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). In pigs, a profit of 1,390,292 heads was recorded, with an increase of 1.9% in reference to the third quarter of the previous year, and a production of meat in rods of 151,696 t.
