According to the Chilean website "ExtraNoticias," Chilean sea bass is primarily found in the regions of Maule (R. del Maule), Biobío (R. del Biobío), Los Ríos (R. de Los Ríos), and Araucanía (R. de la Araucanía), and is mostly caught by hand. This fish species is in high demand for recreational fishing and mainly supplies the domestic consumer market. As there are currently no minimum catch specifications or catch quota limits set for sea bass, seasonal fishing bans have become the only effective measure to protect this species' resources. During this period, all activities involving sea bass, including catching, selling, transporting, processing, preparing, and storing, are expressly prohibited.
