Chile opens market for Brazilian papaya

Brazil and Chile completed the procedures relating to the opening of the Chilean market to fresh papaya ("carica papaya") for consumption, after reviewing certificates and “on-site” audits that supported the analysis and establishment of phytosanitary requirements. Brazil occupies the second position among the world's main exporters of papaya. Last year, our exports reached US$49.71 million, representing 15.3% of world trade in the product.
