Frutas de Chile has opened new phytosanitary inspection sites in the Coquimbo and Atacama regions of Chile, in time for the grape and fruit export season to the United States. Located in collaboration with the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and the USDA-APHIS, these sites comply with export standards and will facilitate the inspection of a broad spectrum of fruits. The Atacama region, known for its grape production, exported 71,860 tons of fresh fruit, primarily to the US, during the 2023-2024 season. Meanwhile, Coquimbo, which exported 214,584 tons of fresh fruit, 84% of which was to the US, is planning a 5,000 m² facility to further support agricultural growth. These developments highlight the commitment to enhancing Chile's fruit export industry.
