Chilean cherries arrive in India in just 36 days of sailing aboard

The 2023-2024 export season is positioning India as a promising destination for Chilean cherries, reveals data provided by the Chilean Fruit Cherry Committee and reported by Red Agrícola. To date, shipments have totaled 444 tons. Claudia Soler, executive director of the Cherry Committee, highlighted a significant milestone in the transportation of the fruit to India: the “Cosco CSCL Star” ship completed the trip in a record time of 36 days with a single landfall. This, according to Soler, represents a notable improvement in the logistical challenges faced in previous seasons, attributed to the close collaboration between the Committee, exporters and shipping lines.
