Dried plums from Chile can now be sold in India without the need for plant quarantine authorization, thanks to a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors. The exemption came after several years of coordinated work between various organizations, including ProChile, the agricultural department of Chile in India, and the Chilean Association of Processors and Exporters of Dried Prunes. This development opens up new commercial opportunities for Chilean dried plum exports, which have reached US$135 million in the first seven months of 2023.
