Chilean exports of fresh fruits fell by -7.3% in volume but grew by +11.3% in value between January and September 2023

(Agraria.pe) During the January-September 2023 period, Chilean exports of fresh fruit reached 2,138,000 tons for US$ 4,612 million, which represented a drop of -7.3% in volume, but an increase of +11.3% in value, compared to the same period of the previous year. The main species exported in the analysis period was the cherry, registering a volume of 302,827 tons for US$ 1,819 million, showing an increase of +6.1% in volume and an increase of +21.8% in value compared to the same period in 2022. The main destination is China (91.1% of the total value of Chilean cherry exports were sent to that country). Table grapes are next in importance, with 495,308 tons (-18%) equivalent to US$ 865.8 million (+0.4%), which represents 18.8% of the total value of fresh fruit exports. The United States stands out as the main buyer in this period (accounting for 46.8% of the total), followed by China (13.2%).
