In February, Chile's exports of fresh peaches and nectarines hit a record $72 million, an 18.7% increase from the previous year, contributing to a total of $112 million in shipments of these fruits in the first two months. This growth is part of a broader success in the fruit export sector, with fresh cherries and blueberries also making significant contributions of $1.94 billion and $26 million, respectively. China stands as the top market for these exports, followed by the U.S., the Netherlands, and the UK. Lorena Sepúlveda, National Director of ProChile, emphasized the importance of fresh fruit exports and the organization's dedication to promoting and diversifying Chile's exports as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
