Frutas de Chile has inaugurated two new phytosanitary inspection sites in Coquimbo and Atacama, in partnership with the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the USDA-APHIS, to facilitate the export of grapes and other fruits to the US. Located in regions that export a significant portion of Chile's fruit production, these sites are part of a tripartite agreement aimed at meeting export standards and contributing to the growth of the agricultural sector. The Coquimbo site has 15 inspection tables, and the Atacama site has 27, with plans to support the increasing demand for inspections for US-bound exports. A public-private alliance, supported by the National Regional Development Fund, is in progress to develop a new inspection site in Coquimbo, expected to benefit small, medium, and large producers by strengthening inspection capabilities and supporting economic development.
