Chili farmers in Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi are enthusiastic due to the promising price of chili, with the Governor of South Sulawesi appealing to farmers to focus on planting chilies to continue being the main supplier to Java. Governor Bahtiar planted and harvested the first cayenne pepper in Lowa Village and stated that the high price of chilies promises higher welfare for farmers, stabilizes prices, and reduces inflation. The Regent of Wajo explained that the current high price of chili peppers has increased the welfare level of farmers and they are optimistic about meeting the needs for Christmas and New Year.
