The article highlights the significant growth in agricultural trade between China and Africa from the year 2000 to 2020, with a notable average annual increase of 13% in trade volume, reaching US$7.59 billion. Chinese imports of African agricultural products, such as citrus, sesame, and cocoa, saw an especially high growth rate of 16.8%, rising to US$4.26 billion. This economic cooperation has been bolstered by China's efforts to expand market access for African agricultural products, with over 350 types now exported to China. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese agricultural investment in Africa increased by 3.4 times in 2020, supporting the development of agricultural infrastructure and technologies to benefit African agricultural sectors. The article underscores the significance of the second China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo and the first China-Africa Food and Agricultural Products Cooperation Forum, where cooperation agreements and projects were signed, aiming to enhance agricultural cooperation, improve trade structures, and facilitate business interactions between China and Africa.
