Vietnam's live crab and crab exports experienced a significant boost in the first two months of the year, reaching a total of 11.3 million USD, with Hong Kong, China, and Singapore being the top markets. Notably, exports to China surged sixfold to 9.2 million USD. This increase is attributed to the high quality of Vietnamese crabs, which are free from antibiotics and disease-causing bacteria, coupled with a rise in demand during the Lunar New Year. Vietnam also exports frozen processed crab products to other major markets like the US, Japan, Korea, and Australia. The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) is optimistic about the recovery of seafood exports, projecting a turnover of 9.5-10 billion USD for the year.
