Vietnam's seafood exports have seen significant growth in the last two months, reaching 1 billion USD in October and 924 million USD in November, marking an 11.5% increase from the previous year with a total turnover of nearly 9.2 billion USD. The country's shrimp exports experienced a 22% increase in November, with projections to reach 4 billion USD by the end of the year. Other products like pangasius and tuna also showed positive growth. The Chinese-Hong Kong market led in Vietnam's seafood import markets, growing by 61% in November, while the US market also showed positive growth of 21%. The US Department of Commerce announced preliminary anti-subsidy taxes on shrimp imported from Ecuador, India, and Vietnam, with a lower tax rate for Vietnamese shrimp, providing a competitive advantage in the US market. The EU market also contributed significantly to the total seafood export turnover, enjoying advantages from the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU. To achieve the export target of nearly 10 billion USD this year, seafood enterprises are encouraged to diversify export markets, promote product images to consumers, and update market information.
