Comrade Zhao Zenglian stated that by the end of October 2025, China had already imported agricultural products worth 8.7 billion U.S. dollars from Vietnam, highlighting the bright prospects for bilateral agricultural trade in 2025. These achievements fully demonstrate the close cooperation between the two sides, as well as the strong support and bridging role of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.
Comrade Zhao Zenglian emphasized that China always attaches great importance to trade with Vietnam and has opened its doors to high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products. Since the beginning of this year, the two sides have signed four export agreements for chili, passion fruit, rice bran, and bird's nest. The signing of the fresh pineapple guava agreement this time will inject new momentum into the development of agricultural trade between the two countries.
Comrade Chen Desheng expressed his satisfaction with the working meeting with the General Administration of Customs of China and affirmed the continuous deepening of the cooperative relationship between the two sides. He pointed out that the leaders of the Party and the State of Vietnam always attach great importance to consolidating and strengthening cooperation with China in various fields, especially in agriculture and the environment. Based on recent bilateral trade data, Comrade Chen Desheng emphasized that China is Vietnam's most important import and export market. The bilateral trade value for the first ten months of 2025 has already exceeded the total amount for the whole of 2024.
From the perspective of the functions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Comrade Chen Desheng believes that there is huge potential for cooperation with China. During the meeting, the two sides also had an in-depth exchange on professional technical issues related to the import and export of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products between the two countries.
Fresh pineapple guava, as a traditional export product to China, has now achieved standardized management through the agreement. This agreement not only opens a positive trade channel for fresh pineapple guava and reduces trade risks, but also demonstrates the credibility and strength of Vietnamese agricultural products in meeting the strict standards of the Chinese market. This move will promote Vietnam in expanding its planting area, implementing good agricultural practices, enhancing added value, and increasing farmers' income.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Vietnam's fruit and vegetable export value for the first ten months of 2025 reached 7.09 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 15.1% compared to the same period in 2024; among which the Chinese market accounted for a high proportion of 62.9%. This achievement has laid a solid foundation for achieving the annual export target of 8.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2025. (End)
