In the article, the stability of cassava material prices is highlighted, attributed to large purchases by China in May 2021, despite the threat of leaf mosaic disease. Vietnam's cassava and cassava product exports experienced a slight decrease in volume but a significant increase in value in May 2021 compared to the previous month and year, with China being the largest market. The article also brings attention to the price competition with Thailand in the Chinese market, as Thailand's export floor price for cassava starch remains stable and its selling price in China is higher than Vietnam's. From April 2021 to May 2021, Thailand saw a notable increase in its cassava chip and tapioca starch exports, primarily to China.
