China: cash from breeders decreases

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the number of sows in China at the end of October was 39.9 million heads, representing a decrease of 1.1% compared to September and a decrease of 2.1% compared to the previous year. It is the first time in 17 months that the number of breeding sows has fallen below 40 million. The Implementation Plan of China for the Regulation of Pig Production Capacity considers a "normal" breeding sow population of 39 million heads, which means that the production capacity in October is within the green zone (102.3% of the normal population).
