Zhongxian County in Chongqing, China, is transforming its citrus industry, marked by the title 'Chinese Citrus City', into a model of rural revitalization inspired by the Three Gorges Reservoir's ecological civilization. This transformation, highlighted during a visit by a delegation of overseas Chinese media, includes the introduction of disease-resistant citrus varieties, large-scale, standardized planting, and the formation of a complete deep-processing industry chain. The county's 358,000-mu citrus planting area, which contributes an annual output of 360,000 tons and a value of 3.775 billion yuan, has significantly improved the income of local fruit farmers and supported many poverty-stricken households. The development of an eco-tourism pastoral complex, the largest fresh and cold orange juice processing base in Asia, and the establishment of the Citrus International Collaborative Innovation Center aim to further integrate agriculture, culture, and tourism, promoting sustainable economic growth and rural revitalization.
