The Chinese government has decided to include the European Union (EU) in its list of dairy product sources, making it the second largest source after New Zealand. This decision was made following consultations with EU representatives and after receiving statements from local dairy industry representatives. The addition of the EU does not include any new dairy products. In 2020, China was the second largest recipient of skimmed milk powder from the EU, and the fourth largest recipient of butter and whole milk powder.
