A new agricultural deal between Peru and China has been signed, allowing for the export of table grapes from Peru by air, opening up the Chinese market for this product. The agreement also covers the export of horse and donkey meat, among other products. This is in line with Peru's goal to increase its agricultural exports to more than US$11.5bn a year. Progress has also been made in the process of allowing the export of fresh pomegranates and pecans to China, with a review of the necessary phytosanitary protocols underway.
