Despite a 4.1% decrease in its pig herd, China's pork production rose by 4.6% in 2023, reaching 57.94 million tons. The country also experienced a 3.8% increase in pig slaughters, totaling 726.62 million. Alongside pork, China also boosted its production of beef, lamb, and poultry, leading to a 4.5% growth in total livestock production to 96.41 million tons.
