In February, China increased its corn imports by 41% compared to January, reaching 3.1 million tons. Despite political tensions with the US, China has been importing a significant amount of corn from there, with purchases from Brazil effectively halted due to large soybean imports. Other factors contributing to China's corn import decisions include uncertainty in corn exports from Ukraine, a reduced harvest in Argentina, and improved shipping conditions on the Mississippi River. Between March 10 and 16, US farmers sold 2.234 million tons of corn for export to China, the third-largest weekly amount on record.
