The Chinese government, through the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), has lifted the restrictions imposed on the export of chicken meat from Brazil. The decision, effective immediately, was made based on the results of the risk analysis conducted by Chinese authorities. Brazil is the largest exporter of chicken meat in the world, accounting for about 35% of the global market. The temporary suspension of exports had been adopted by China in May of this year following the confirmation of the first case of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in a commercial farm located in the municipality of Montenegro (RS).
