In October 2023, China imported 308,000 tons of cassava starch worth 169.14 million USD, an increase of 10.8% in volume and 19.4% in value compared to the previous year. China spent a total of 1.28 billion USD importing 2.54 million tons of cassava starch in the first 10 months of 2023, with Vietnam being the second largest supplier to China, but experiencing a decrease in volume and value compared to the previous year. Despite the increase in demand from Chinese customers, the selling price of cassava starch in some ASEAN countries remains more competitive than in Vietnam.
