In 2020, China's fruit imports exceeded $10 billion for the first time, despite an 8% decrease in import volume due to the pandemic. The top nine fruits imported, in order, were durians, cherries, bananas, mangosteens, grapes, dragon fruit, longans, kiwifruit, and oranges, with durians and cherries making up 23% and 16% of the total import value, respectively. Thailand was the leading supplier of these fruits. On the export front, China's fruit exports increased by 7% in volume and 16% in value, with apples, grapes, and citrus fruits being the top exports. The export value was primarily to Vietnam and Thailand.
