In November 2022, China saw a significant increase in garlic exports, with a total of 233,200 tons, up by 63,500 tons from the previous month and 24.48% year-on-year. The cumulative export volume from January to November reached 2.0365 million tons, marking a 5.35% increase over the same period in the previous year. Despite this, the total export value in November decreased by 12.87% year-on-year due to a drop in price. The peak demand was driven by Indonesia, with Vietnam and Malaysia also significant importers. The export price has decreased by over 30% compared to the previous year, but it is expected to rise modestly starting from late December. China's garlic export volume has increased due to low prices and high demand, with around 3.5 million tons of garlic in inventory.
