China's total grain output is projected to increase by 1.6% to 706.5 million tonnes in 2024, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The total area under grain cultivation also saw a slight increase, covering 119.319 million hectares. The average grain yield also rose, reaching 5,921 kg per hectare. Cereal production is expected to grow by 1.7% to 652.29 million tons. This growth in grain production is crucial for strengthening China's food security and maintaining its position as a major grain producer.
