According to the survey on the distribution of Chinese kimchi conducted by the Korea Agricultural and Fishery Future Research Institute (Director Nam Sang-won) at the request of the Kimchi Self-Promotion Management Committee in 2024, the export unit price of Chinese kimchi was lowest to South Korea. While China's kimchi export unit price is $2.07/kg, the unit price to South Korea is $0.97/kg, and among the survey subjects, South Korea was the only country with an export price lower than the average unit price. According to the distribution survey, China's kimchi (HS code 2005.99.99) export value was approximately $105.297 million in 2023. Of this, the amount exported to South Korea was $31.665 million.
