Starting January 1, 2022, China will enforce new regulations for food imports, requiring foreign food manufacturers to register with the Chinese customs agency, GACC, before exporting to China. This regulation applies to 18 items including meat, aquatic products, and dairy, and other products like sausage fillings, bee products, and condiments. Manufacturers must submit documents such as a company name, address, and export history to register. The registration is valid for five years, with renewal requiring submission of documents to GACC. Thai exports to China, including fresh, chilled and frozen fruit, plastic granules, and computers, have seen a significant increase, reaching 878 billion in the first nine months of 2021, a 26% increase from the previous year.
