China's raisin production is projected to increase by 12% in the 2023/24 season, reaching 190,000 tons, with exports expected to rebound to 25,000 tons. Despite a slower-than-expected economic recovery, consumption is anticipated to grow slowly to 172,500 tons, while imports are predicted to decline to 17,500 tons. Turpan is China's largest processing grape growing area, and although extreme temperatures affected the quality of fresh grapes, raisin production is expected to rebound due to the increased use of grapes for processing.
