The cost of making kimchi has stabilized at a lower level compared to the previous year, according to a survey by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation. This is due to a drop in the price of cabbage, radish, and red pepper powder, which are major kimchi ingredients. The government is also supporting the stabilization of the supply and demand of kimchi materials by supplying stockpiled items and selling them at discount prices during the kimchi season.
