In the initial months of 2024, Russia witnessed a significant increase in its chocolate and cocoa product production, marking an 8.9% rise from the previous year to 161.7 thousand tons, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture. The country's overall confectionery output also grew by 9.2%, reaching 667.1 thousand tons, driven by higher export shipments and steady domestic demand. This surge has led to Russia becoming the fifth largest confectionery producer globally, with a notable 5% increase in chocolate exports by the end of March 2024 compared to the same timeframe in 2023. This growth reflects an upward trend in the per capita consumption of confectionery goods in Russia.
