Christmas table 2023 will cost Ukrainians 970 hryvnias

Christmas menu of dishes that are traditional for such a table of an average family: kutia and uzvar, fried fish, vinaigrette, dumplings (with potatoes, with cabbage, with cherries), stewed cabbage, lean borscht with beans, fried potatoes, fresh and salted vegetables will cost about UAH 969.74 for an average family. Scientists of the Institute of Agrarian Economics calculated the cost of the New Year's table based on the average prices of Ukrainian supermarkets as of the beginning of December 2023. The main dishes on the Christmas table are kutia and uzvar. According to scientists' calculations, a wheat kutya (950 g of products of a traditional recipe) will cost 103.71 hryvnias. The most expensive ingredients of the dish this year were: poppy seeds - UAH 43 for 200 g and walnuts - UAH 24 and raisins - UAH 17.50 for 100 g, respectively.
