Russia: Chum salmon redistributed at the request of North Kuril fishermen

The letter from the North Kuril Seiner Fleet Base refers to additional volumes of chum salmon, which, in the opinion of the Association of Fishing Enterprises of the Sakhalin Region, could be caught by local fishermen. Moreover, there is a basis for this - a decision of the industry council for fishery forecasting, operating under the Federal Agency for Fisheries. The essence of the decision is simple - if necessary, resources for the Pacific salmon fishery can be redistributed from the Kamchatka-Kuril subzone (within the boundaries of the Sakhalin Region) to the North Kuril zone. And such a proposal was received - 100 tons of chum salmon. As a result, at the 33rd meeting, the regional "anadromous" commission established the catch of 150 tons of chum salmon in the first of the named areas, and 1,546.6 tons of chum salmon in the second.
