[Korea Farmers' News Agency, Reporter Song Hae-chang] The Chungnam Institute of Agricultural Technology held a field evaluation meeting for the new variety 'Hwabo' at a goji berry farm in Daechi-myeon, Cheongyang County, on the 21st. About 50 people, including goji berry farmers and officials from related organizations, attended the evaluation meeting to check the growth characteristics, yield, and suitability for mechanical harvesting of Hwabo. According to the Chungnam Institute of Agricultural Technology, Hwabo is a tetraploid self-compatible variety that can be fertilized without pollination, making it suitable for summer greenhouse cultivation. The fruit is long-oval, with a uniform shape and excellent color, and has a high yield. The flesh is firm and has good de-fruiting properties, making it suitable for vibration-type mechanical harvesting, and the fruit does not easily fall off during the harvesting process.
