The Argentine refrigeration industry slaughtered 1,169 million heads of cattle in September 2025, representing a 3.3% drop compared to the same month last year and a seasonally adjusted monthly decrease of 1.3%, according to Economic Report No. 296 prepared by the Chamber of the Meat and Derivative Industry and Trade of the Argentine Republic (CICCRA). In the first nine months of the year, the total slaughter amounted to 10.19 million animals, just 0.6% less than in the same period of 2024. Beef production reached 271 thousand bone-in beef tons in September and accumulated 2.356 million tons year-to-date, a slight 0.6% year-over-year increase thanks to the higher average weight of the cattle.
