Citrus: Slow exports leave the industry cautious in purchasing the fruit

The initial export outlook for the 2025/26 orange juice shipping season was positive, especially given the exemption of the United States' surcharge on Brazilian imports and the reaction in orange production in the State of São Paulo. Researchers from CEPEA indicate that, however, the limited demand from Europe has kept juice exports below expectations at the beginning of the crop season (from July/25 to October/25). In light of this scenario, processors in the State of São Paulo consulted by CEPEA have been adopting a stance of extreme caution in terms of purchasing new fruits.
