The irregularity of rainfall in the Midwest has once again guided the planning of the second crop. Between November and January, several regions recorded precipitations well below the average, with a focus on the MATOPIBA and part of Mato Grosso do Sul, where long dry spells alternated with concentrated rains. The delay in planting soybeans reduced the window for corn and pushed sowing into periods of higher water risk, as data show the advancement of planting after February 25 in areas of Mato Grosso.
