CNA welcomes Japanese researchers

CNA met with researchers from the Agricultural and Livestock Industries Corporation of Japan (Alic), on Thursday (14), who came to learn more details about the production of sugar and corn ethanol in Brazil and strengthen trade relations between the two countries for these products. Hiroyuki Yamazaki, manager of the International Research Group, and researcher Hiroyuki Minegishi showed interest in importing mainly Brazilian sugar. They reported that currently 90% of the product consumed in Japan comes from Australia. According to them, the Japanese have suffered from product price fluctuations on the international market and Brazilian sugar would be more competitive and they seek to understand measures that could allow the insertion of Brazilian products in Japan. The sugarcane and corn ethanol market in Brazil and sustainability of Brazilian agricultural production were also on the agenda.
