The Central Fisheries Cooperative Association is pushing for the domestic institutionalization of a system to systematically compensate fishermen for damages caused by the establishment of offshore wind power, following the example of Taiwan. They have officially proposed to the government to reflect this content in the subordinate laws of the Special Act on Offshore Wind Power. On the 20th, the Offshore Wind Power Task Force under the Central Fisheries Cooperative Association decided to pursue this initiative after completing a joint seminar between Korea and Taiwan in Taipei and meetings with Taiwan government departments. The delegation for this visit included President Noh Dong-jin of the Central Fisheries Cooperative Association and regional task force leaders composed of cooperative association heads. The task force held a discussion on the topic of "Coexistence Model of Offshore Wind Power and Fisheries: Fishermen Compensation, Profit Sharing, and Participation Based on the Taiwan Case."
