The grain trade association Coceral forecasts a rise in soft wheat and rapeseed production in the EU and UK in 2025, following a low harvest this year due to heavy rains. Soft wheat production is expected to rise to 140.4 million tonnes, with rapeseed output projected to increase by 2 million tonnes to 20.3 million tonnes. EU soft wheat production is forecast to rise to 126.5 million tonnes, while the UK crop is expected to rise to 13.8 million tonnes. Barley production is also expected to increase, with the EU production forecast at 51.9 million tonnes and the UK production forecast at 7.8 million tonnes. EU maize production is forecast to increase to 61.9 million tonnes, particularly in south-east Europe.
