Coceral, a grains trade association, has revised its forecast for the EU and UK's soft wheat production up by 400,000 metric tons to 134.5 million metric tons, despite anticipating a 4% decrease from 2023 due to rain damage. The UK's barley harvest projection for 2024 has been reduced to 59.9 million tonnes, however, it remains 10% higher than the previous year. The report also expects Spain to see a significant increase in wheat and barley production this year, following a severe drought in 2023. The EU and UK are estimated to produce 64.8 million tons of corn, up from last year's production. However, Coceral has lowered its rapeseed harvest forecast to 19.4 million tonnes from 20.2 million tonnes in its previous forecast and 21.4 million tonnes in 2023.
