The preliminary estimate for São Paulo's 2019/20 coffee harvest reveals a significant increase of 39.7% in production, totaling 370 thousand tons, due to higher productivity. Despite a slight increase in the productive area, this surge is primarily attributed to the bienniality of coffee farming in the Franca region. São Paulo's sugarcane production is also expected to increase by 0.8%. However, the orange crop's production remains similar to the previous harvest, with a slight decrease due to water deficiency and high temperatures. The secretariat's next survey will provide updates on winter agricultural products and perennial crops, as well as the intention to plant summer annual crops for the 2020/21 season.
