The head of the Public Relations and Communication Department of the bureau, Sahelmariam Gebremedhin, revealed that during the reporting period, the country exported 409,600 tons of coffee, exceeding the annual export target of 280,000 tons by 46%; revenue increased by $1 billion compared to the same period last year.
Germany, Saudi Arabia, and the United States are the top three export destinations for Ethiopian coffee, with other major buyers including Belgium, China, the UAE, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and Jordan.
Sahelmariam emphasized that the current focus is on increasing production, maintaining quality, modernizing the marketing system, and combating illegal trade activities to further increase export revenue and ensure sustainable growth in the industry.
