World coffee prices on December 25, 2024, saw an increase on both the London and New York exchanges. Robusta prices on the London exchange for March 2025 delivery increased by 33 USD per ton, reaching 5,041 USD/ton, while Arabica prices for the same delivery term increased by 1.35 cents per lb, reaching 328.60 cents/lb. This increase is attributed to heavy rain in key coffee harvesting areas in Vietnam, high freight rates, geopolitical tensions, and reduced output due to climate change. However, domestic coffee prices in Vietnam continued to increase slightly, trading around 120,600 - 121,400 VND/kg, despite a decrease in Vietnam's coffee exports in November 2024, which reached 63,019 tons, earning 351.7 million USD, a 47% volume and 1.3% value decrease compared to the same period last year.
